Fear of the Dentist - Fear of Debts?

I Like to Think I'm Wonder Woman!
You want to get out of debt, you want to move on but why is the fear of getting out of debt worse than actually getting out of debt itself?
I am terrified of the dentist, and despite being a therapist and having the power at my fingertips to use Emotional Freedom Techniques (EFT). I have never tackled this problem head-on. I am basically far too scared to even contemplate putting myself in an un-safe space. So my life just carries on and I’m none the worse for it. I go round healing others but I choose to ignore my dentist phobia.
Now I have sore gums and I know I have to sort them out, but when I think of all the dental problems I had in the past it really panics me. I phoned the dentist today to make an appointment. I was in tears when I came of the phone as I was that worked up about the whole thing.
My purpose of this is not to make you feel sorry for me for having to visit the dentist, although flowers, chocolate and sympathy would be very welcome thank you
I want to remind you that whatever you bury your head in the sand about IS NOT GOING TO GO AWAY.
Your debts will grow and grow, and grow beyond your control until you feel total panic at the mention of money, bank, debt or any other trigger words.
Not opening your post will exacerbate your problems.
Not sorting out your debt will exacerbate your problems.
Not being true to yourself will also exacerbate your problems.
Take action NOW. Your first step is to decide that you are in charge of your life, and that you can overcome this. You’ve probably overcome many difficult things in your life so far. Work out how much you owe and then visit Experts in Debt to speak to a friendly advisor who deals with people who have your problem all day everyday.
Your debt is in charge of you, take charge of it and show it who is boss!
Good luck, and let me know how you get on

Daleks Can Overcome Their Obstacles - So Can You!
Success is to be measured not so much by the position one has reached in life, as by the obstacles which one has overcome while trying to succeed. (Booker T. Washington, 1856-1915. American Teacher and Writer).
The Daleks have always had one main problem - they couldn’t climb stairs - The important thing to note was that it didn’t stop them! They didn’t just give up and not bother. They wanted world domination and they weren’t going to give up. The same way that you want to get out of debt, but you know that if you give up that it just won’t happen.
No-one ever said that getting out of debt would be plain sailing but it isn’t an obstacle that can’t be overcome. These days there are ways that you can control your debt. You can apply for a debt management plan, or you could consolidate your debts into one loan. It is even possible to write-off up to 70% of your debt with a debt management plan under certain circumstances.
There is always a way around your problems, you just have to find one that works for you.
The Dalek frustrations were captured brilliantly by Punch Cartoons, with the punch line of “Well, this certainly buggers our plan to conquer the Universe!” You can even buy the print here.
If that’s put you in a Doctor Who mood then check out this video of the Daleks.

It Pays to Organise Your Debts
Obviously your goal is to get out of debt, but what can do you in the meantime to help yourself?
My husband came out of hospital two days ago. We’re still in shock that he went in for terrible stomach pains, and we thought they would just keep him in overnight. 9 days later he finally came out after having a serious bowel infection. There were some very tense moments when the doctors were chasing the infection around. Trying to work out what it was, and how to treat it, meanwhile, my husband’s temperature and heart rate were going off the scale and didn’t look like they were ever going to come back down.
Why am I telling you this?
One minute we were fine, and the next minute I was seriously wondering if he’s ever come back home. Things can, and do happen that quickly. If you do not have at least the minimum payment set up for your debts then you will incurr charges, and have people chasing you for payments. This is the last thing you need in a crisis!
GO NOW and check that you have direct debits set up to at least pay the minimum on your credit cards and other debts each month. Another thing you can do is to arrange a Debt Management Plan (DMP) where you pay a set amount each month to all your creditors – leaving you only one payment to worry about.
I’m not being morbid or over-dramatic, just practical. Do this today as a step towards getting yourself out of debt.
